The Israelites had miraculously been saved from slavery, they were carried on the wings of God, they were fed with manna, angels food, they were given access through the red sea, they heard God in thunders and lightening, they were out of slavery but not in the promised land.
So what, the people got fed up of eating the same manna everyday, they remembered the variety of food they had in Egypt, they wanted to go back.
The problem they had was not a lack of what to eat, but a bad attitude. They questioned God’s ability to provide for them, even Moses wondered what would God do? Was God going to give the people fish from the sea? their cattle and sheep would not be enough to feed them all.
But God asked Moses is my hand so short? God knew what to do, He sent a wind which gathered quails from the sea shore, they were so much that everyone gathered them in heaps, but before the people could chew it, God sent a plague upon them. The people had their desire, but God was angry at them.
What does God want us to learn from this? God can give you anything you want, but first he wants you to have the right attitude, its not every thing you wish for that is right for you. And God knows this, so when you re in between the wilderness and your promised land, maintain a godly attitude because that’s what would bring about the change you desire, keep praising God even when you don’t see a way out of your situation because he knows the way out and as you take your mind away from your problems and unto him, God ll cause mountains to melt like wax for you.
