The Covenant Keeping God

What is a Covenant?

A Covenant is an agreement between two or more individuals or between a diety i.e God and a man. In the bible, God made covenants with the Israelites, his chosen people and these covenants are for us today.

A Covenant is like a promise, but we know that covenants between individuals could be broken; a man can promise a woman marriage and not marry her. A person can take a loan and refuse to pay.

But when God makes you a promise or covenant, he does not break his promises and that is what makes him God. He is the Covenant keeping God.

The bible has promises made by God to man and if you are a christian, you can claim them over your life.

The Covenant of Protection

‘I will be an enemy to your enemies’ Exodus 23:22

We need God’s protection today. In a world full of insecurities, we can go to God in prayer for protection.

Psalm 91vs 3,4,5,6

4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

In a world like ours you need divine security and this is available in God. Some make covenants with idols for protection but the bible makes us to understand that there is no God like our God. He made the heavens and the earth.

Covenant of divine provision

‘ I will bless your bread and your water’ Exodus 23 vs 25

God knows that we need divine provision of our daily needs and that’s why the scripture is full of promises of God’s provision. When you declare the word of God over your life, God will provide for you through usual and unusual ways so that you’ll always have enough for yourself, enough to give to others and enough to give your tithes and offerings out of a cheerful heart.

You ll never be out of supply, rather in the midst of famine, you ll be satisfied.

This is God’s word to you and you can trust him for divine supply of your daily needs.

Covenant of divine health

‘I will take sickness away from you’ Exo 23:25

How many people would say that they love being sick? Sickness is not of God, God has provided medical care and knowledge of natural solutions to sickness and diseases, however when these medical care is insufficient, then you go to God for solution.

Jesus Christ took our place. He was wounded for our transgression and bruised for our iniquities … with his stripes we were healed. He did all that was necessary for us to live a sickness free life, he healed the sick with compassion and love because he wants us strong and healthy to be able to live the life he wants us to live.

Covenant of Fruitfulness

The covenant of fruitfulness is also fruitfulness of your body, your finances, fruitfulness in everything you lay your hands on, this is God’s covenant to us and we can claim them. You can be productive, filled with new ideas for your business.

Your business, body and everything that concerns you is blessed.

Isaiah 32:15

Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

Covenant of Long life

God wants our life to honor and glorify him. We should make every day count as we impact others for good with the word of God.

As you grow older, God shall make you stronger IJN

Isa 65:21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

22They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

24And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

These are some of the covenants of God to his people. Hold unto them because God never breaks his word! Praise God!
