There is power in secrecy; certain prayers must be prayed in secret first to be answered in public by God.
An enemy exposes you, but a friend covers you.
Why did God say go into your closet and pray? Because he values the intimacy, the deep fellowship we have with him when we pray in secret.
That attitude were we think that everything and anything we’re doing must be known by all is wrong, it’s not of God because God values secrecy. There are certain things that must not or should not be revealed until a set time. That’s why when certain prophecies were revealed to the prophets, God would tell them which ones were to be revealed, when to reveal them and to whom to reveal them to because they were not meant for everyone. Everyone can not understand them and everyone may not value them.
It is not for us to understand everything because there are things that are revealed and there are things that are purposefully hidden by God. Not everything God tells you is for the people. Some prophecies require you to spend time to pray them out and develop them before you release them into the world.
Many Christians are being robbed of their power and effectiveness because they are revealing too much, that’s why God cannot trust them with more because they can’t keep their mouths shut.
In the global world today, it may not be easy to keep secrets, issues of peoples privacies, sensitive documents being exposed abound. But as much as we can, we must try to respect and value secrecy of ourselves and others so that we can share that deep secret intimacy with God and he can reveal to us things that are not for everyone.
Proverbs 18:1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom
When wisdom comes to you, it separates you from others. You can’t be like everyone and then expect to have those personalized revelations that come from God, you must be set apart, separate and sanctified.
There’s a hunger in the world for the wrong stuff- porn and porn materials. You must not be a part of it because it is unholy and God detests it. It is not for God’s people, there are certain levels of fellowship with God that you want to attain and because of that, you must purify yourself. How can you pray effectively and with the power of the spirit when you regularly use such materials? You would have to spend so much time asking God to forgive you for your sins before you get to the prayer you want to pray.
Your feelings are important because they catapult you into a particular realm and it is from that realm you operate, so it’s better to be careful what you allow into your mind.
The bible says that we are to guard our minds diligently. Proverbs 4:23.
Allow only those things that honor and please God because then you can make it easy for God to talk to you. God is still a holy God who hates sin but loves the sinner. He longs to fellowship with us to have a relationship with us. And he put that desire in us for fellowship and intimacy with him, but there are things we must do and things we must not do to encourage that fellowship and intimacy with him.
We must learn to keep secrets. We must respect others need for privacy. We must avoid porn and porn materials because they don’t help us grow. These are some of the things we can do and when we do them, we would understand the power of secrecy, the effectiveness of our prayers and have a deep fellowship with God. That’s what God wants us to have. Go into your secret prayer place and God will reveal to you the deep things of God.
