I had never eaten the vegetable; spinach till this year when I discovered it. I was on treatment and the drugs I was given though very helpful seemed to be having a harsh effect on my eyes,
my appetite had jumped up to 6 meals a day, sometimes I would be so hungry even when I had just eaten. But I thank God for his grace!
So I started to check on foods that are good for the eyes. I saw a recipe for a salad that had carrots broccoli and spinach. Interestingly I had tried carrot juice but it did not seem to be having the kind of effect I wanted; I have eaten broccoli. So I decided to try spinach, it was not expensive at all though sometimes it could be scarce. After learning how to prepare it; I became in love with it.
Sometimes when I go to the market, they would not have it so I decided to plant it. It was then I discovered why its given the name spinach. It sort of spins around and you need to support it. It grows quite easily, it likes a lot of sun shine and water. I noticed this when I first planted it in an area with more shade than sunshine; other plants were covering it, good enough I had planted some in another place with lots of sunshine and they grew better.
The holy spirit then inspired something in me that some people don’t do well because others are blocking them, they won’t let them shine not because they don’t have it in them to shine but their glory is hidden, once their glory is released, they would begin to do much better than before.
In this season, may God remove whatever that’s blocking your light from shining. May he lift you higher, and cause your light to shine brighter for Jesus.
Spinach is a very good plant, it is not only good for the eyes but great for good health. Its highly nutritious for every part of the body, its slimy and delicious taste makes it almost irresistible and its easy to grow and quite affordable.
So that’s my new found love veggies- Spinach. Eat and glow!
