Don’t despise the ‘days of little beginnings’

Zechariah 4:10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” (The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord that search all around the world)

Job 8:7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.

God wants to encourage us to believe in ourselves and to trust him. There is what is called the ‘days of little beginnings’ were it seems like every other person is advancing and you don’t seem to be moving quite as fast. God said don’t despise the ‘days of little beginnings’ because in them lies the seed for greater days. The fact that things may not be perfect now does not mean that its not going to be better later. Don’t compare yourself with others because the bible tells us its foolish to do so. This does not mean that you cannot be inspired by others, of course you can. But comparison with jealousy and coveting others glory is not good for you.

2Cor10:12
Not that we [have the audacity to] venture to class or [even to] compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.

Sometimes you have to learn to look beyond the circumstances and see with your minds eye. See what others can’t see and hear what others can’t hear, let your motivation move you from within. Maybe you set a goal for yourself and you said, I hope to accomplish this and its taking long, it does not mean you cant accomplish it in style. Don’t compare your life with others. There is a set time for God to favor you and when that time comes, no circumstance or situation can stop your favor from coming to you because it has being ordained by God.

Psalms 102:13 Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come.

A lot of times God let’s us pass through situations to build us up. You would never know what you are capable of until certain situations reveal them to you. Then you ll say I didn’t know I could do this. Yes, you did not know, something pulled it out.

Joseph in the bible was a man that had great dreams, his brothers especially those that thought they should be the ones to have such honor and not him were so jealous. They sold him as a slave to the Egyptians. He worked as a slave to Portiphar, but even as a slave he prospered. He was so handsome and well built that Potiphars wife wanted him. Some people think that being a Christian means you must not be beautiful, if you are too handsome or too beautiful they tell you that you have a demon. Who made beauty? Is it not God? All over scripture, we can see a lot of Gods chosen people who were very handsome or beautiful and God used them to accomplish great things.
So back to my story about Joseph, Potiphar accused Joseph of rape. Joseph was thrown into a prison. But even in the prison God was with him. If you re a star, you are a star, you may be a cleaner but that glory on you will just be so radiant that people will come to your light.
While in prison Joseph’s gift of interpreting dreams was given a chance for expression. He helped people interpret their dreams and he even told them to remember him when they were out of prison. But they forgot him. This went on for two years. They went to him for counsel and when their situations improved, they forgot Joseph, but God did not forget him. And at the right time God lifted him and he became Prime minister of Egypt even though he was a Jew in a foreign land.

If you want to live the common ordinary life then you can compare yourself with others.
But if you want to accomplish great things by the grace of God, then you know there is need for patience. Because if you know that there is the seed of greatness inside you, then you know, there is no room for comparism. You have your own race to run.
When people get impatient with you, tell them this is my race not yours, go run yours.
If you take a good look at your life, you will see that God has being very good to you, you can see abundance of his blessings and favors. There is so much he gives to us freely . There is so much to be thankful for.
Let your heart be filled with peace ,confidence and faith in God that keeps his promises and is more than able to do for you all he said he would and more.
Sometimes we are waiting for that big break, but life is happening now. Don’t post pone your happiness. Be your best now. That person you want to be, you are already becoming, so be your best now.
And don’t wait for things to get better, you get better.

Hallelujah!
