Proverbs 21:17
He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine shall not be rich.
One of the most valuable resources God gives us is time. There are 24 hours in a day; it’s so for the rich and for the poor. So how come some people are able to accomplish much more than others? We know that there are those that are born with the ‘Midas touch’ and people covert them because of their gifts. But on the average, what can one do to make the most of the most valuable resource given to us? This is where time management comes in.
Ephesians 5:15 See that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, vs 16 Redeeming the time because the days are evil.
The bible clearly tells us that this is no time to play around. This is time to be sober, to be vigilant and to be prayerful. You cant spend all your time watching movies, listening to unwholesome songs and expect to be a world changer. You should have quiet times of meditations with God, you should project into your future with your mind’s eye and the help of the Holyspirit.
There is a time for work and there is a time for play. And every wise person knows that when its work time, its work time and when its play time, its play time. You wont find a serious-minded person playing during work time. This does not mean they don’t play, but it means that they can manage their time better and achieve far more than the average person that spends most of their time on meaningless activities. Having achieved their desires, then they can play, not playing all the time.
Readers are Leaders. Every great person is a reader, Do you know that you can travel the world through reading, you can define a niche for yourself by the wealth of knowledge and wisdom you acquire. Too many young people dream of being rich and highly successful yet despise the steps taken to get them there. They want to play and not put any efforts into achieving success. Even God cautioned us in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any should not work, neither should he eat.
Too many people pass up many great opportunities to improve themselves because they lack vision, they are unaware of the opportunities that abound before them because all they think about is themselves, what they’ll eat, what they ‘ll drink, what they’ll wear, But God wants us to put off those small visions and think big, be globally minded. Become concerned genuinely about the needs of others and think of what you can do.
God talks to the man who cares and once God knows that you care, then he can connect you to all the people, resources and materials to accomplish your dreams even if it’s an enormous one. God is not intimidated, in fact the bigger your vision, the better.
God loves to show himself strong in your life!
