Women are known for many things. Commonly, women are known in the area of their domestic functions such as cooking and the likes.
There are however women who have shown that these functions which have being the focus of our attention when we think and talk about women for so long may have hindered us from receiving so much more from them. Some of the special qualities of a woman is that she is blessed with empathy. Women are much more sensitive than their male counterparts by nature. A woman can go out of her way to make those around her happy and comfortable. Her sensitive nature makes it easy for her to have a closer relationship with God than men. This is why men should listen to the women around them especially when they are godly women.
The caring and sensitive nature of a woman makes her more prone to being hurt. Which is why a woman should be pampered and treated with care.
Let’s talk about godly women in the bible that can inspire us all.
Mary the Mother of Jesus.
Mary was single-handedly chosen by Almighty God to be the mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, What an honor! Indeed she is blessed above all women
Luke 1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
Mary was a normal woman like any other woman, she was engaged to a man by the name of Joseph.
When the angel told her that she would give birth to the Savior, her only question was how shall this be since I know not a man?
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
And she believed God’s word, she acted with pure child like faith. There was no argument in her heart. That is trust.
Jesus was born of a virgin. That is a miracle in itself. He was born of the word of God.
I believe that God still places value on virginity today even though many think that it is old fashioned.
Let’s also read about Joseph, a humble and devout man.
Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
What an honorable man.
Deborah the Judge of Israel
Judges 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
The bible let’s us know that Deborah was a woman who served as a Judge and the prophetess of Israel. People would bring their issues to her and she would counsel them.
She gave strategies to Israel on how to go about their battles and God wrought mighty victories for the people of Israel by her counsels.
Something inspiring about Deborah is that even though she was a married woman, she was able to carry out her ministry and do great things for God. The bible does not give much details about her personal life as that is clearly not the focus. Her husband was probably a humble man who did not interfere in the discharge of her duties as prophetess of Israel.
Whether you are a man or woman, single or married , God is searching for a vessel that he can use, The bible says that if you sanctify yourself, you will be a vessel fit for the masters use and fit for every good work.
The Virtuous woman
The virtuous woman is the woman described in proverbs 31…Read more about her here:
Proverbs 31:11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 31:12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
The bible clearly describes the virtuous woman as a confident , diligent and hard-working woman who looks well to her home.
The bible says that her husband can trust her. She will do him good and not evil.
Proverbs 31:26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She is not a woman who talks carelessly or makes fun of the afflicted. Rather she is a woman who knows how to speak encouraging words to those around her.
Proverbs 31:29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. 31:30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. 31:31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
She is praised for being a great woman. The bible emphasizes that what makes a woman beautiful is the real person on the inside. Her character. The bible did not specifically name the virtuous woman but gives us a detailed description about her. There is so much to learn from her. Indeed she is a blessed woman.
God cares about women a lot. God cares about every detail of your life, you may think it’s all about the men because women are often relegated in society but God recognizes you. God knows you and he wants to do so much with you. You can impact and influence your world starting from were you are even as a woman.
I pray that God will bless us abundantly with divine revelations and abundant favors that will cause us to be a blessing to our world and generation. Hallelujah!!
