Gods ways are higher than ours.

Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

God is a wonderful God. He is so good, merciful and kind. He has blessed us in Christ with all we need for life and for godliness. But sometimes it seems as though we are not enjoying these things because we feel that we are not good enough. The devil attacks us with feelings of guilt about past errors just so we feel that we are not loved by God. He makes us feel that because of what we did, mistakes we made in the past etc. God does not want us anymore and so for many, they feel it’s no use, they feel that since God is angry at them, they might as well continue the way they are. The people around them sometimes are no better as they constantly remind them of their errors. They say but not quite exactly, ‘don’t you lift those hands up, God is not going to hear you because you are a sinner.’ Because you did this and you did that etc But you must know that God is not like man. And he does not intend for us to live in guilt. He wants us to receive forgiveness and continue in our faith walk because you re not going to win with a defeated mentality.

And so the first step to receiving forgiveness of sin is by acknowledging sin. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Don’t try to blame it on so and so or justify yourself by saying its my temperament to be rude or to be a bully etc for example if you talk a lot and in the process you tell foul jokes about others and you say things that could be hurtful to them , you don’t say you are a sanguine and that’s why you are that way. You are to acknowledge were you went wrong and then ask the Lord to forgive you and help you to be a better person.
The next step in receiving forgiveness is to be carefree before God as you remember that in ‘Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.’
Declare that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus and that sin has no power over you! You are holy and accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Stop thinking, talking and focusing on your mistakes. Focus on God’s love for you.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Be sure your thoughts are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report. Even if that thought is true but it is not pure, lovely or honest, you should not think it. When the bible said as a man thinketh in his heart so is he, he let’s know that its our thoughts that determine our course in life. Prov 23:7, Guard your heart.
There are things that people experience not because that is what God wants for them but because they are not disciplining their minds to think rightly.
Most times it’s not our circumstances that hold so much power over us but our thoughts about them. When you say ‘ am a failure ‘ or that’s the way I am because that’s what others say to you, you are setting in motion negative forces. Why don’t you say instead ‘ I am blessed ‘, ‘I am helped’, ‘I am favored’. ‘I am a success’ ,’I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
It may not look like it but the more you say it and think it, the more you encourage those things you are saying and talking about.
You must refine your thoughts. You don’t think anyhow or talk anyhow any more because there are special thoughts for the godly man who is in constant fellowship with the spirit of God.

Stay away from people who want to make you miserable about your past. Remind them about the goodness of God to you right from the past even up till now. God has been faithful.
Study the Word, read helpful books and materials, listen to audio messages. These will help you to see things differently.

Get busy too, learn a new skill, practice the skills you have. This will keep the wrong thoughts at bay.
Christ did not come for perfect people but for the imperfect and the ungodly. He said that it is the sick that need a physician. In other words, he came for the sick, to heal and to restore. So acknowledge your weaknesses and Christ will fill you with his strength.

God’s anger is for a moment but his favor is for a lifetime. Psalms 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life:

God is not like men who constantly remind you of your errors in a bid to try to humble you and make you feel discouraged weeks, months and sometimes years after you made a mistake.
His ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts. He is so high in majesty and wisdom. He can use that seeming error to work out something great in your life. He is a God of love, wonder and restoration.
He can restore to you the years that the locust had eaten Joel 2:25, he can give you a new future. He can turn things around to your favor. He can give you better things than you hoped for or that you had before. He can do this because he is God and God alone. He is unlimited. He made the world and everything in it just for our pleasure. What a mighty God he is! And when we ask for his help, he stands ready to assist us!

You may be heavily criticised by people who think your methods are wrong. They may say that they have a better idea of how you should be doing what you are doing even when they are not doing anything at all to help you. They may criticise all the wrongs that you have done and say nothing about the good and wonderful things about you. But there are 2 types of people in this world, those that do great things and those that criticise those that do great things. You are not preaching the gospel or winning souls etc for your critics who think they know better than you, you are doing it for God. You are doing it for those who genuinely need it, the sick, the afflicted, the oppressed, the discouraged; those that God wants you to minister to.
May God strengthen you as you do his work. God bless you!
