As Gods own people, we must recognize that even though we are in the world, we are not of the world.
We are citizens from Zion functioning in the earth.
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels..
Just because we may look like the people of the world, wear similar clothes, eat the same food does not make us like them.
We are new creatures, recreated in Gods image.
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

We are peculiar. We are special.
This is the reason why we must renew our minds with God s word. We cannot think the same way we used to think before.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind

The word of God shows us how to live our lives. It shows us how to talk with grace
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

You ought to season your words with grace. Be sure they are pleasant and kind. Even when you correct others, it should be out of love not envy.

It shows us how to relate with others.
Ephesians 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour

It shows us how to relate with Gods children. Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

The system of Gods kingdom and the principles that govern it are very different from the world. That is why you should be picky about the things you allow to influence you because you ought to examine them through the word.

For example to be truly rich in Gods eyes, God says give. But the world says take and take as much as you can.
Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

To walk in divine healing, confess and declare God’s word. Declare that you are healed by the stripes of Jesus. That’s what walking by faith is. That’s why you can do big projects because your faith is in God not in your bank account.
Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

To be great in God’s sight, we are to serve others. Look out for the needs of others rather than your own. Don’t say that because you are not working, you can’t serve God’s people etc. There’s a lot God can do with you even without a job. So don’t wait.

Luke 22:26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.

There are little ways that people of God can distinguish themselves from people of the world. We are the light of the world. We are not the darkness. We are the light to give direction to the world. We must not become so much like the world that people are having a hard time knowing the difference. The difference should be obvious, in our way of life, our speech etc.

Ephesians 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

You are a child of light. Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

We are to show forth his glory, his Majesty, his splendor, his kindness, his goodness, his power and his might.
