What’s a scam?
If you have never being scammed before and your attitude towards people who have being scammed is ‘don’t mind them, they’re so silly that’s why, I could never fall for that’, then this article is not for you.
Here are some key points to note when someone presents an opportunity to you.
I. If it’s a company, do a search on their contact address and phone number. You can do these on the internet.
When you do this, you can study the search results which will inform you on what steps to take. The point is Don’t rush with the idea because it sounds good. Do a research first.
2. They seem like they are in a hurry.
A scammer may come to you and say, I will like you to join my modelling company, pay registration fee of let’s say $100. Do this immediately because if you don’t, you might miss the opportunity. That already tells you that it’s a scam. No need to bother doing any search.
3. They appeal to your sense of compassion or ambition
A scammer may know you like charity and then tell you to sponsor a charity. Do your research first, just because you love to help people does not mean you should help this particular person
4. They tell you not to tell anyone.
Why would they say that? When you say let me discuss this with someone I respect like my pastor, my boss etc. They say it’s not necessary, then you know they are up to something.
5. They are secretive
If you are being open and honest with someone, they should also be to you. If you are dating someone, you should be able to answer their calls and go through their phones if you need to. If this is not the case, then something is wrong
6. They lie a lot.
Even when you have noticed a scam and you approach the scammer, don’t expect he or she to tell you, that it’s a scam, don’t discuss it with them as they will try to convince you wrongly. Just close the transactions.
7. Notice the kind of friends they keep
Do their friends scam and cheat others? It’s possible that they are scammers themselves or else they won’t be so comfortable with them.
8. It sounds too good to be true
Most times a scammer is given you something that’s so good for not even up to half of the price, it may be stolen.
9. Questionable habits.
Do they smoke, drink and use curse words? Have you seen them do such even once, what makes them happy? Are they only happy when they have money and miserable when they don’t? These are tip offs.
10. Trust your instincts.
Emotions are deceptive and even the most intelligent of us have made decisions that were entirely emotional. Trust your instincts. If it feels good, then why do you have that bad feeling or uneasiness. Chances are something is wrong somewhere. But you just have not figured it out. Slow down and stop. These could be warning signs. Things people call bad omen, these are not the normal problems or issues of life but warning signs from our angels that something is wrong. It could be a dream, it could be that something goes wrong when you re with this person. Please listen to it. Listen to those wiser and more mature than you. They are not carried off by the emotions so they can advise you properly.
So that’s it , if you have more tips to add, let me know by commenting. Don’t forget to share on as many sites as possible to let as many people as possible know. Thanks. Kisses !!!
