I have discovered that one major quality we need to embrace in our Society today is truth.
So many people are deceptive. They are living a life of deception and they are okay with it. Most people go out of their way to impress people by spending way beyond their means just to please them. In most cases the people they are spending so much on to impress do not even care so much about them . Why all the pretence and deception to fit in, why not just be yourself. Who ever will love you will accept you for you. If you have to work so hard to impress someone just to please them, chances are they are not your friends. Because if they were they would try to reduce your burden, not add to it.
It’s sad that in Society today, the good people are seen as bad, while bad people are celebrated as good. It’s a trend that must stop. Every one should be who they are. If you are bad, don’t pretend to be good and if you are good don’t allow others to make you look bad like them. The culture of lying and deceiving others is so common that many people see nothing wrong in it. They can tell you they are somewhere when they are miles away from there. They think it is normal. We have to decide to become better persons. Don’t point fingers at your leaders and say they are not doing enough. Let the change you want start with you . The leaders cannot do it all themselves. Decide to deal honestly. Don’t call prices that are way beyond what it should be just because you can. Deal honestly and God will reward you for it.
God is not looking for perfect people because there are none. Or are you? Please let me know so that I can praise you very well. We all have areas of weaknesses and shortcomings because of our human limitations but that’s why God gave us his word to build us up until we are perfect. You need to be honest with God. He knows you so just be yourself. Many people are not honest with themselves. They find it hard to be themselves , so they try to be someone they are not so that they don’t have to work on improving themselves. But everyone knows who you are. You can’t pretend for so long, if you are good it will show in the fruits you bear consistently over time, if you re a bad person, time will reveal it. So please just be yourself because that’s the most attractive quality in a man or woman. Confidence in themselves not hiding behind another mans character.
Most people today find it hard to tell the truth to themselves so how can they tell the truth about you when they are not even truthful to themselves? Most people find it hard to honor others except when there is something they can get from it because most do not think they are honourable. It is what you feel about yourself that you project onto others. You cannot give what you do not have. So work on you, and you will become so gracious and pleasant that everyone will want to be around you. They want to talk like you because you speak with grace, charm, honor and royalty. You must be conscious of it. Train yourself to speak honourably of others, seek out their good and you will find it. Nobody is so bad that they don’t have any good in them.
There are people who when someone makes a mistake they go round and spread it, when they hear the person’s success, they get jealous and say, don’t mind him or her, he is a desperado. That’s wrong, it’s a habit that becomes a character that can make it difficult for such people to receive good things because they despise it.
What ever you get by deceiving people cannot last because it has no solid foundation. But what you get by truth sticks because its built on a solid foundation. It’s not something you can fake.
God is looking for people who are real enough to realise that they need him everyday.
We are nothing without God, so don’t try to act like you can do it by yourself. He is the One that empowers and enables you.
You need to acknowledge him and go to him in true reverence and humility because you need his help. This life is not mathematics were you automatically get things just because you think you deserve them, some things you have to fight for because there are wicked forces out there trying desperately to stop you. But with Gods grace and favor on your side you can be victorious.
Be humble enough to ask God for help and when he does anything for you, acknowledge and praise him for it instead of acting like he never helped you or complaining. That unthankful attitude is not conducive for God. God lives in our praise. He wants you to praise him even before you see any changes. That’s why you are a child of faith. You praise him even before you see it.
So many people are going to church today for different reasons, some because someone invited them, some because everybody is going to church, some because they need something from God and some because they want to win souls for God. You must know why you are in church. You must be clear about it. It’s not because of anyone, you came to worship God and to win souls to him, you may meet all sorts of people in church for various reasons, pleasant and unpleasant but that’s not why you came to church. You are in church for your own personal salvation. You must be able to identify your calling, know what God called you to do. There are things you do , you struggle at it but you insist on doing them because you are conscious of people’s opinions, there are other things you do and its like you are flying with minimal efforts. So you have to function were God wants you and not necessarily were people want you. God is looking for those that will worship him in spirit and in truth. They are his delight. Be a man or woman of truth.
John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
