Little children have a lot to teach us. Let’s learn child-likeness. The
quality of the children that made Jesus to say
that anyone who wants to come to the Kingdom
must come like a little child.
Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little
children come to me, and don’t prevent them. For
of such is the Kingdom of Heaven.”

1. Carefree and Pretense free.
Children are such carefree creatures. Am amazed at them. They have little or no concerns.
They don’t care what you think of them. They greet you with joy if they like you, if they don’t they keep their distance. They are themselves, no pretense, no cares of what the other child thinks of them. Wow.

2. Cheerful : Children are generally more cheerful than their adult counterparts. They don’t need so much to make them happy. Once they are shown the basic care and love, they will be cheerful. Unlike some adults that have all the basic things of life yet still have to take drugs just to feel OK.

3. Trusting: The trust children have in adults should ginger them to be better persons. A child trusts you. You can tell him or her, am going to get you this toy. Immediately the child sees themself in possession of that toy, they start acting like they have it already. Of course as adults certain unpleasant relationships have taught us to be more discerning in our dealings with people. But that does not have to make you a bitter person. You must learn to trust again. Especially when it comes to God and his word. Because God is not a man that he should lie.

4. Forgiving: You will agree that children are so full of love that its difficult for them to hold a grudge. You may discipline a child now. The next few minutes that child will want to play with you.

5. Loving: One of the most charming things in the world is the smile of a child. So innocent and guile free. A child is full of love naturally. They don’t need anyone to teach them to love. They are full of it.

6. Simple: We adults concern ourselves with a lot of things that we ought not to be overly concerned about. We must wear the most trending clothes etc before we feel we belong. We look at others who do not have these things or are less concerned about them as inferior to us and yet Jesus said a man’s life does not consists in the abundance of what he has.

7. Adventurous and curious
Children are curious. They are adventurous. They want to try out things for themselves. They do not think they have seen it all. They want to explore and this is one quality that’s common with the greatest inventors, geniuses; nothing is too familiar to them. Everything is new in their eyes.

Children are a treasure from heaven to remind us about how God would like us to be. Every child is a special gift from Almighty God!
