Have you ever heard of the term guilty conscience ? It’s that feeling of condemnation that lets you know you that you have done something wrong. All or most people have a conscience. You don’t need to be told right from wrong because you know it. Some preachers go so far in condemning sin that they want to tell you all the different types of sin but that’s unnecessary. When people sin what they need is forgiveness and restoration and not a constant reminder of their sins. No; remind them of their righteousness.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
He already punished Jesus for our sins so why would he want to punish us again?
If you still feel guilty even after you have asked God for forgiveness and are no longer walking in sin; then its just a feeling. Keep affirming in spite of how many times you are reminded of that sin that you are the righteousness of God and that sin has no power over you. Study I Cor 5:21
Rom 6:14
If the devil reminds you one thousand times of your sins; remind him one thousand times of your righteousness in Christ. Don’t waste any more time thinking God no longer loves you, if he loved you when you were a sinner; is it now you are saved he would not love you. No. Receive his forgiveness and restoration by faith. Allow him to restore you as you study his word and take time out to pray. Make definite changes to your lifestyle. Mind the books you read; the things you watch on the television; the friends you keep. Let them inspire you for a greater lifestyle of righteousness.
If sin is exposed in your life; it’s better for you, it can be corrected immediately. It’s not when you swear to be the most righteous person in the world yet your heart is stinking. If God corrects you; it’s because you belong to him. If he looks the other way then ; it implies he has no relationship with you.
Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
So you should rejoice when you are corrected because God knows you. There are cases were because God loves a person so much, he does not want to lose them totally to the devil, he may deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 1 Cor 5:5. It’s always best as much as possible and as soon as possible to do what is right and to receive Gods forgiveness and continue in our Christian walk. Always pray to God for help and for mercy so that you may walk worthy of him, pleasing him and being fruitful in every good work.
God bless you and Have a great day!
