The Power of Prayers.

Prayer is a means of communication with God. There are different kinds of prayer but the one that moves God the most is the heartfelt, continuous prayers from our hearts.

God has granted us unlimited, unfettered access to the immeasurable wealth of his greatness, power and glory through prayers.  A simple to prayer to a powerful God is all you need to change an unpleasant situation or improve a good one. But some of us have not even scratched the surface yet. God wants to do so much for us but we are still so concerned about ourselves, our immediate needs and wants. He wants to reveal himself to us, but first of all we need to cultivate a relationship with the Lord through prayer .

Prayer goes beyond merely asking God for things or a limited period of time in which we turn on the prayer switch and turn it off ; such as when we are in Church, prayer ought to be a continuous fellowship with the Lord. As we do so we will begin to pray more and more about those things in line with his will and with his word.

The bible tells us about Elijah. Here was a man, subject to like passions as we are, that means he got hungry, he felt tired, he got angry. He felt all the human emotions we feel but he was still able to do so much through prayers. This shows us that God can use anyone, you don’t have to be a Pastor first or a christian for many years, The pre-requisite to praying powerful prayers is to be a righteous man and this is only through salvation in Jesus Christ, that is you need to give your life to Jesus Christ or to be born again.
As a believer, God expects us to spend most of our time interceding for other peoples; believers and unbelievers. He has made us a Kingdom of priests unto him; he has called us into a place of fellowship, authority and power with him.

God loves to hear our prayers and he loves to answer us. In Luke 11v11, If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? … V13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

God wants to help us so we can glorify him and so that our joy can be full. If you re praying about a need, make your declarations based on the word for the abundant supply for such needs and begin to rejoice and praise God as though it is already done, glory to  God! If you are praying about a situation that involves others then you need to intercede on their behalf,  bring forth your strong reasons, don’t stop till you get a note of victory. You keep praying about that situation; it may take weeks, months; keep praying till that situation is changed.

When we pray God looks at our heart, why do we really want what we want, everything we desire should be inline with expanding the kingdom and winning lost souls to him. So today go ahead and talk to the Lord, he loves to hear you pray, he loves to answer, he wants to show himself strong in your life but you must invite him first. And then cultivate thanksgiving as a way of life, never stop thanking him for what he has already done for you.

God bless you.

For further studies on the topic see,

 James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
James 5:17

Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

5:18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
1 John 5:14

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Living Bible Revelation 5:10

And you have gathered them into a kingdom and made them priests of our God; they shall reign upon the earth.”

John 16:24
Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
